Police Kill One Suspected Kidnapper of MOPOL Commander, Arrest Five Others

LAGOS FEBRUARY 3RD (NEWSRANGERS)-The Nigeria police said it has killed one suspected kidnapper of Mobile Police Commander of Mopol 55 Aba, Abia State, Assistant Superintendent of Police, ASP Solomon Nyakno Aniefok, while five others suspects were arrested alive.
NewsRangers learnt that Aniefiok went on visiting round to check his men in the field when he was suddenly blocked and kidnapped by AK47 Rifle carrying kidnappers, adding that he was eventually released three days later after paying ransom
Irked by the development, Inspector General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris deployed the Intelligence Response Team, IRT to Abia state to get the kidnappers to justice. Based on the IGP directives, after six days of unrelenting follow up five of the suspected kidnappers were arrested alive, while one of them met his water-loo during gun battle with IRT Operatives.
Exhibits recovered from the hoodlums are one AK47 Rifle with S/no 56-2550382 with 2 Magazines and 60 live Ammunitions, one Barretta Service Pistol of the Mopol Unit Commander, one local made pistol and 2 catridges, one police bullet proof jacket, one police vest, two head warmers and one Mopol Jungle Cap.
The Kidnappers Arrested are thirty six years Ifeanyi Stanley Ekpelulor ‘m’ aka one man squad. He is a native of Osisioma LGA, Abia State. He is gang leader and a dismissed recruit as he was dismissed during Police training in 2006. He confessed to have taking part three kidnap operations in Abia State.
Next is twenty six yearsoldJohn Alozie ‘m’ aka Alagboso. He is a native of Osisioma, Abia State. He confessed to have participated in the kidnap of Unit commander and two other kidnappings. Third is thirty one yearsld Ogbonna Wesley.
The fourth is twenty two years old Eze Obinna. He is a native of isiala ngwa, Abia State.
The last is fifty eight years old Eze Orji. He is a native of Isiala Ngwa, Abia State.
One Osioma Paul, wife to a Kidnapper now in Prison and Sister inlaw to the gang leader arrested Ifeanyi Stanley was equally arrested for keeping the operational Rifles and Ammunitions for the kidnappers in her House. Serious efforts to arrest the few remaining gang-members are in progress.
