One Student Dies, Four Injure As Bomb Explosion  Rocks Abuja Islamic School

LAGOS JANUARY 7TH (NEWSRANGERS)-An explosion at an Islamiyyah school in the Kuchibiyi community of Bwari Area Council, Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has resulted in the death of one student and left four others critically injured.

The tragic incident occurred around noon on Monday, January 6, 2025, sending shockwaves through the community, located approximately 42 kilometers from Abuja’s city centre

Emergency response teams, including the police bomb disposal squad, quickly arrived at the scene, and the injured were rushed to a nearby hospital for medical attention.

According to reports, the deceased student may have been carrying a substance suspected to be an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) when it detonated.

While police and security officials have yet to comment on the incident, efforts to reach FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, were unsuccessful, with calls and messages remaining unanswered. (Text, excluding headline: The Nation)
