Man Who Is Tired Of Life Sets Himself On Fire


LAGOS APRIL 23RD (NEWRANGERS)-A 35 -years – old man Chinedu Nwaeze has set himself ablaze in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.
Nwaeze who poured substance suspected to be fuel on his body said he was tired of life before setting himself ablaze at the premises of St. Patrick’s Primary School, Kpirikpiri.

According to a witness John Ebiri, Nweze had poured some substances suspected to be petrol on himself before setting himself on fire screaming that he was tired of life.
He said that Nweze tied his hands and legs with rope, poured the inflammable substance on himself before striking the matchbox.
Another witness a neighbour to the victim alleged that the victim had occasionally manifested signs of mentally unstable.
The witness who did not want her name in print said that she did not expect that the health condition of Nweze would get to the level of attempting to take his own life.
He said:” Before passersby and some of his neighbours could extinguish the fire using leaves and bags of sachet water, the inferno has burnt parts of his body including his male organ.
” A team of policemen rushed to the scene upon receiving distress call on the development and took the victim to the Accident and Emergency Unit of the second phase of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki (AE- FUTHA) where he is currently receiving treatment”.
