Lagos Police Rescue Man Found With Dead Child From Lynching
LAOS AUGUST 6TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Men of the Lagos state police command on Friday, August 4, rescued a man who was almost lynched after he was found with a dead child in the Ojo area of the state .
Residents of the area found him with the child and became suspicious that he is a ritual killer who might have abducted and killed the child.
However, after much torture , he was rescued by men of the police Ilemba-Hausa police division and upon interrogation, he told the police that the child had been sick for a while and had just died in the hospital. He said he was contracted by the parents to help bury the child. He was on his way to bury the child before he was accosted by some residents who thought he had evil intention.
Confirming the incident to LIB, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the parents of the deceased child were invited to the station where they confirmed the man’s claim.
He said the the parents of the child and the accused man were released to proceed with the burial as planned.
