Kano Continue To Lead As Nigeria Records 238 Covid-19 Positive In A Single-Day
LAGOS MAY 2ND (NEWSRANGERS)- Nigeria, on Friday, reported a staggering number of COVID-19 cases – 238 single day infections along with 68 deaths so far, 351 discharged and a total record of 2170 cases nationwide.
The country’s Centre for Disease Control, Friday night, said that the new cases were recorded in 22 states and the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
In the new cases, Kano for second time takes lead against Lagos, adjudged as the epicenter of the virus.
The records release by NCDC are as follow; 92-Kano, 36-FCT, 30-Lagos, 16-Gombe, 10-Bauchi, 8-Delta, 6-Oyo, 5-Zamfara, 5-Sokoto, 4-Ondo, 4-Nasarawa, 3-Kwara, 3-Edo, 3-Ekiti, 3-Borno, 3-Yobe, 2-Adamawa, 1-Niger, 1-Imo, 1-Ebonyi, 1-Rivers, 1-Enugu.
As of Thursday, NCDC say they tested 2,000 samples, the highest-ever daily test since testing began for C0VID-19 but with this development, indication shows the figures would continue to increase depending on the number of testing carry out.
Officials say NCDC now have 18 Molecular Labs activated, across the country and more are being prepared to come on-stream.
