Hotel Management InTrouble Over serial Killer’s Confession
LAGOS SEPTEMBER 23RD (NEWSRANGERS)-Management and staff of a hotel in Port Harcourt, Rivers State have been invited by the Rivers State Police Command to explain why the did not report the death of a female lodger in one the hotel rooms.
The staff of the hotel was accused by the police of allegedly concealing the death and dumped the body a few meters away from the hotel.
The deed was revealed following the arrest and confession of a suspected notorious serial killer, ex-militant, David West who had been on the police watch list for multiple murders.
For over two months, residents of oil-rich city, Port -Harcourt, Rivers State, had been living in fear as serial killers were rampage killing their female victims in hotel rooms.
A senior police officer who spoke on the condition of anonymity as he was not supposed to speak to the press said:
“A few weeks ago, we discovered the body of a woman dumped a few meters away from a popular hotel. We have been trying to unravel those who dumped the body until three days ago when we picked West who confessed that he killed a lady in the said hospital. We have invited the hospital for questioning.
“What is wrong is wrong. The staff of the hotel discovered that someone was murdered in the hotel room; instead of reporting to the police, they moved the body out of the hotel premises and dumped it on the road. They should have reported to the police,they failed, so they have many questions to answer.
Why should people hide the crime? If the case was reported, maybe we would have picked the suspect earlier than now. People should not aid crime and criminals. Yes, they have many questions to answer the police, because the suspect has confessed that he murdered a young lady in the hotel room.
