LAGOS MAY 15TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Civil Liberties Organisation in Bayelsa State has appealed to the Federal Government and the Management of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria to support Creek FM and the South-South Zonal Station of the FRCN to move to the permanent site in Yenagoa.

Chairman of the CLO in the State, Alabo Nengi James made the appeal during a solidarity visit to Creek FM’s Broadcasting House located at the State Secretariat Complex.

Alabo James who commended the station and the Corporation for its quality broadcast to the people, expressed delight that Creek FM is back on air after the windstorm that destroyed its mast and antennae on March Thirty this year.

He however stressed that fast tracking the provision of facilities and equipment for Creek FM and the Zonal Station’s permanent site in the Bayelsa State capital would further boost the operations and services of the Corporation to the people of the Area.

A member of the CLO, Mr. Bekinwari David-West regretted that the natural disaster had denied residents the opportunity of listening to the station’s broadcasts including the network news and other programmes.

In a response,  the General Manager of Creek 106. 5 FM, Yenagoa, Udosen Sunday  commended members of the Civil Liberties organization for their untiring efforts in defending the rights of the people as well as supporting the station.

He gave an assurance that the Director General, the Zonal Director and Management of the FRCN was working assiduously to ensure improved broadcast services to the people.

Other members who accompanied the Chairman of the CLO on the visit were the Secretary, Timipa Igoli and Sam Arugatein.
