Grammy Award Winning Song Writer Brett James, Two Others Die In Plane Crash

 

LAGOS SEPTEMBER 21ST (NEWSRANGERS)-Grammy-Award winning songwriter Brett James has been killed in a plane crash. He was among three people on board the Cirrus SR22T that crashed in a field near a North Carolina school.

James, 57, made his name as a songwriter and worked with top stars including the likes of Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Bon Jovi. He clinched a Grammy Award in 2007 for the Carrie Underwood track Jesus Take The Wheel.

The Cirrus SR22T, a plane registered to James that left Nashville at 12:41 p.m. CST, went down west of Iotla Valley Elementary School. Students and staff were reported safe, and no one was injured at the school, according to the Macon County Sheriff’s Office.

A statement from the FAA said, “A Cirrus SR22T crashed in a field in Franklin, North Carolina, around 3 p.m. local time on Thursday, Sept. 18. Three people were on board. The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate. The NTSB will be in charge of the investigation and will provide further updates.”
