Federal University Students Take Ride On Fuel Tanker To School In Katsina State
LAGOS DECEMBER 9TH (NEWSRANGERS)-In a desperate attempt to reach their school, students of the Federal University Dutsin-ma (FUDMA) have been seen commuting to the university on a fuel tanker, highlighting the severe lack of reliable transportation options.
These students, who travel 24 kilometers from Dutsin-ma town to the university’s permanent site, have had no other choice but to resort to this unconventional mode of transport.
While some students suggest that other alternatives might be even worse, this situation underscores the dire need for better infrastructure and services.
The use of fuel tankers raises significant concerns regarding the safety and well-being of the students.
With the frequent overcrowding of vehicles, many students have been injured while trying to board, and several have missed critical exams due to the unreliable transport options. The risk becomes even more pronounced during exam periods, when timely arrival is crucial.
In light of these ongoing challenges, both the Students’ Union Government (SUG) and the university management have been urged to address the transportation difficulties faced by students commuting to the permanent campus.
Additionally, the Federal Ministry of Education has been called upon to step in and provide solutions to ensure the safety and academic success of these students. Without urgent intervention, the current situation threatens to undermine the academic progress of the university’s student body.
