Federal House Of Rep Member Passes On In Abuja
Late House of Reps Member, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams
LAGOS JULY 18TH (NEWSRNAGERS)-A prominent member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams, has passed away.
Hon. Ekene was confirmed dead early this Tuesday morning, July 16, 2024, by his wife.
Until his death, Adams was Chairman, House Committee on Sports, and represented Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency of Kaduna State.
A former General Manager of Kada City FC and Remo Stars, Adams was elected into the House of Representatives on the platform of Labour Party (LP) in 2023. With his sports background as a former athlete and administrator, he was appointed the Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Sports, the position he occupied until his death.
Aged 39, Adams had reportedly been battling a protracted illness for several months, which ultimately led to his death.
His death was the second to hit the House within a week following that of Hon. Olaide Akinremi (Jagaban) from Oyo State, who passed away on Wednesday, July 10.
