Anthony Joshua Beats Pulev To Submission, Looks Ahead To Tyson Fury
LAGOS DECEMBER 13TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Anthony Joshua defeated Kubrat Pulev to retain his world heavyweight titles and will now look ahead to a potential undisputed fight with Tyson Fury.
AJ knocked out the Bulgarian in the ninth round with a powerful right hand shot.
Joshua dominated the fight with Pulev knocked down twice in the third round only to show incredible resilience in getting back up to continue the bout.
With Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather watching on, AJ showed his class in a clinical display.
Joshua will now look to a unification bout against Tyson Fury in 2021 although that fight is by no means confirmed.
Oleksandr Usyk is a mandatory challenger for one belt but fans are clamouring for Joshua to step in the ring with Fury next.
After the bout Joshua asked the crowd to decide who he would next face with them cheering loudly at the hearing of Fury’s name.
He said: “Whoever has got the belt, I want the belt. If that is Tyson Fury, let it be!”
Joshua also gave his thoughts on the win against Pulev.
He explained: “Less talk, more action. I hope everyone was satisfied tonight.
“For me, I stuck to what I know best, boxing. You ask the crowd what they want to see!”
Promoter Eddie Hearn also guaranteed he’d do everything he could to make the fight happen.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “Starting from tomorrow, we make the
Tyson Fury fight straight away.
“Joshua is the best heavyweight in the world. We know what we have to do,
we will get it done.”
It didn’t take long for Fury to take to social media and call out Joshua ahead of a potential fight.
Speaking a video posted on Twitter, Fury said: “Well there you go everyone, Anthony Joshua just s*** himself live on television.
“He got asked ‘did he want the fight?’ and he went around the bushes and put his a*** in the hedge. I want the fight.
“I want the fight next. I’ll knock him out inside three rounds. He’s a big bum dosser, can’t wait to knock him out.”
