Abducted Retired Immigration Officer Found Dead

IMMIGRATION

LAGOS APRIL 7TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A retired officer of the Nigerian Immigration Service, Jacob Agada, has been killed by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers in Lafia, the capital of Nasarawa State.

Agada was found dead a few hours after he was kidnapped by the gunmen who mounted roadblocks around Ombi II, Lafia on Thursday night and whisked him away.

The victim was reportedly returning to his house at about 9 pm when the hoodlums abducted him and later dumped his lifeless body in the area on Friday morning.

A family source, while lamenting the rising spate of insecurity in the area, called on the relevant authorities to urgently intervene in order to safeguard the lives and properties of residents of the area.

The source who added that the late Agada was 64 years old, expressed sadness over his untimely death while urging the security agencies to investigate the circumstances which led to his death and arrest the perpetrators of the act.

When our correspondent contacted the Police Public Relations Officers in the state, DSP Ramhan Nansel, to get the reaction of the command, he simply said, “We are yet to receive any official information on the matter.”
