Pandemonium As Gunmen Invade Taraba Market In Broad Daylight, Abduct Traders

LAGOS DECEMBER 13TH (NEWSRANGERS)-There was pandemonium at the Pakri grain market in the Bali Local Government Area of Taraba State as men armed with sophisticated weapons invaded the market and abducted three grain merchants.
It was gathered that the gunmen, numbering up to twelve, invaded the market situated along Jalingo-Bali Road in the early hours of Sunday and abducted the three merchants.

Business activities were brought to a halt as traders abandoned their wares and ran to the nearby mountain and forest for safety, Daily Trust reports.

The invasion of the market by the kidnappers came two days after a retired senior civil servant and three others were abducted by kidnappers at Anguwan Baraya in the Jalingo metropolis.

In recent weeks, villages in Taraba State have come under attack by kidnappers who have abducted no fewer than 30 people, including the district head of Amar.

Areas that came under attacks of gunmen include parts of Karim-Lamido, Bali, Jalingo, Gassol and Bali local government areas of the state.

The spokesperson for Taraba State Police Command, DSP Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the incident but said he had yet to get more details from the Divisional Police Officer of Bali on the attack.
