Plumber Excretes 83 Wraps Of Cocaine At Abuja Airport
LAGOS FEBRUARY 4TH (NEWSRANGERS)-In the lyrics of one of the songs of the late reggae music legend lucky Dube, “it takes a million people to build up a good reputation, but it takes one stupid fool to destroy everything they’ve done.”
Luck ran out of a self acclaimed business man, Onu Oluchuckwu after he was arrested by men of the national drug law enforcement agency in Abuja. The suspect Mr Onu was apprehended at the Nnamdi Azikiwe international airport terminal with 1.527 of the illicit substances in his possession.
The spokesman of the national drug law enforcement agency, Mr Jonah Achema disclosed to news men on Thursday, February 4 that the suspect was apprehended by men of his agency while trying to smuggle the drugs out of the country to India.
Narrating the events that led to the arrest of the suspect, the spokesman explained that Mr Onu Oluchukwu who claims to be a plumbing items dealer in Lagos, was stopped after scanning at the airport showed that he had ingested something suspicious into his body. After thorough investigations and search, Mr Onu excreted 83 wraps of substances which was later tested to be cocaine. The suspect claims that he was to be paid 1.5 million naira if he successfully delivered the drugs.
Such unpatriotic act has dented the country’s image in the international scene. The suspect has been remanded in custody pending further investigations and possible arraignment in court.
