Nigeria’s Super Captain, Ahmed Musa Parts Way With Saudi Club, Al Nassr

LAGOS OCTOBER 27TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ captain Ahmed Musa has become a free agent after parting ways with current club Saudi Arabian giants Al Nassr. The Saudi Professional League side confirmed the 28-year-old’s departure from the club officially on Sunday night.

The Nigerian forward mutually parted ways with the club as he expects to continue with his professional career in Europe.

The Najd Knights, as the Saudi side Al Nassr are known, released the following statement on their official Twitter account.

“Thank you Nigerian falcon, wishing you all the best in the future Ahmed Musa!”

Musa, with eyes set on the European continent, recently turned down an opportunity to join Turkish Super Lig champions Istanbul Basaksehir.

The speedy winger signed for Al Nassr from the English Premier League club Leicester City two years ago. He still had at least two years left on his contract with the perennial Saudi Professional League title contenders.

While at Al Nassr, Musa won the Saudi Professional League title in the 2018/19 season and the 2019 Saudi Super Cup. He scored nine goals in 50 appearances for the club in all competitions.

THEWILL hopes his European dream is actualised soon and he can once more show the continent the frightening pace his legs can provide.
