Gunmen Kill DPO, Police Inspector, Abduct Women In Sokoto
LAGOS SEPTEMBER 18TH (NEWSRANGERS)-According to the indigenes of the area said that the gunmen, who struck around 1:00am, went away with the guns of the murdered officers.
The Divisional Police Officer of Gidan Madi Police Station in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State, and another officer were killed by gunmen.
It was added, that two wives of a notable businessman in the area were also abducted by the gunmen.
According to the news a large number of their animals and food items were also carted away during the operation.
It was further learnt, the gunmen stormed the communities on motorcycles after thereafter they began shooting indiscriminately.
According to security sources, the gunmen first stormed the station, killed the DPO and one inspector of police before abducting the housewives at their residence.
Fear has gripped the residents of the area that if a whole divisional police officer and Inspector of police can be killed by the gunmen like that then, they themselves who armed less are not saved.
That this have sent a further signal of apprehension to the community and it’s environs.
The Security agencies should do more intelligent gatherings to have preemptive measure on subsequent attacks, than breakdown law maintenance.
