NANCFS Calls On Okowa To Intensify Covid 19 Orientation, Extols Odogwu For Standing The Gap
LAGOS JUNE 29TH(NEWSRANGERS)-The Nigeria’s Advocacy Network for a Covid 19 free Society, DANCFS has warned on imminent danger of trivializing the terminating effects of Coronavirus as a hoax and calls for maximum cooperation of everyone in staying alert to curbing contraction and transmission of the virus, noting that, the virus is at community transmission level.
According to the NANCFS, the daily rise of Covid 19 infection in Delta state has become worrisome despite the state government’s incorrigle efforts to flatten the curve. While His Excellency Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has invested so much of his time and state’s resources in keeping lives safe, there seem to be a missing gap playing down his unequal effortulness and concern the protection and safety of Deltans including residents.
The arguments of unbelievers against the reality and deadly effects of the virus, seem to be gaining more ground, thus widening the compass of ignorance as opposed to low stratum of orientation on which teaming ignorants lives carelessly against precautionary measures, thereby deepening its root.
Albeit, Delta state is rated among leading Nigeria’s states with best anti – Covid 19 facilities, but since outbreak of the pandemic, it has almost become a “one man job” or “duty” as it is in the media in creating ceaseless awareness on measures to staying safe of the direful virus.
It is on this note, we call on the state Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa to intesify the pace of orientation by creating a portfolio to complement Patriot Dantes Odogwu’s self chosen responsibility or to empower him to up his efforts.
While the spike in infection cases and low testing response puts the state at greater risk of benightedly living with infected victims at community level, His Excellency; Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa should as a matter of urgency increase the scope of orientation in addition to his enviable clinical concern.
It became even more disturbing hearing of Delta SSG Chiedu Ibe, Commissioner of Information Charlse Aniagwu and now the number one Delta family caught in the net, now in respective isolation centers receiving treatments. This demands extra cautiousness of everyone in helping the government with compliance to prescribed health safety measures otherwise, its effects on human lives i n the coming days ‘ll be unimaginably disastrous as great and wealthy ones even in the face of consciousness, are falling to the infection.
Our prayers as Deltans, goes to Secretary to Delta State Government, Barr Chiedu Ibie, Information Commissioner, Charles Aniagwu, Gov Ifeanyi Okowa’s family, Deltans and Nigerians undergoing treatments in different isolation centers to get well soon.
Whether a government assigned duty or self chosen task as a concerned Deltan or a government official, our commendations also goes to one of Governor Okowa’s undischarged Senior Special Assistant, Patriot Dantes Odogwu for his resilience in creating minute by minute orientation on preventive tips in a bid to reducing the risk of contraction and transmission. May others on the state government’s wing of empowerment and disposed individuals join hands with him on the need to take responsibility for personal safety and that of others.
The public must be warned; easing of the lockdown does not implies the end of Covid 19 pandemic in Nigeria. The fight against Coronavirus is not over yet, it continues by ensuring personal safety. Please, observe all precautionary measures to remain safe.
