Trailer Crushes Three To Death, Injures Four In Lagos

LAGOS NOVEMBER 20TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Three persons have died and four others injured in a road accident on Mile 2 – Badagry Express Road, Lagos.
The accident was caused by overloading, over speeding and dilapidated road conditions.

It was gathered that the accident occurred when an articulated truck carrying a 40 ft container knocked down three persons riding on a commercial motorcycle, killing them on the spot.

The truck also destroyed about five vehicles parked in a mechanic workshop at Ketu-bus stop, Ijanikin area of Ojo.

The truck also rammed into a high-tension pole and climbed several kiosks on the roadside before it came to a halt.

A witness said that the three persons were crushed beyond recognition.

The owner of the mechanic workshop, Kamoru Kajola, said that the driver of the truck and his conductor were almost lynched by an angry mob but for the timely intervention of the policemen from the Ijanikin division.

Another witness, Chioma Ogbonna, said that the driver of the truck and his conductor were spirited away by the police to the station where they were kept.
