OML30: We Have Good Working Relationship With Our Host Communities-Heritage Boss
LAGOS SEPTEMBER 18TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited, operator of OML30 asset, Mr. Naeem-Atiq Sadiq has said the company was enjoying good working relationship with the 112 host communities in OML30, Delta State.
Sadiq spoke when the Managing Director of Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, DESOPADEC, Chief Askia Ogieh, led team from the commission to Heritage’s corporate headquarters in Lagos.
According to Heritage Boss, “We have taken measures which contributed in the formulation of policies to assist the organisation in the discharge of its duties while identifying the peculiar needs of each community in its areas of operation after conducting a thorough NEEDs assessment of the 112 communities within OML 30.
“The GMoU model encourages HEOSL and community to work together with other stakeholders for the promotion of the development of the communities; thereby ensuring a peaceful and secure atmosphere conducive for operations and activities of the organisation”.
Sadiq also expressed Heritsge’s willingness to collaborate with DESOPADEC towards satisfying the positive and developmental aspirations of the communities basically on four-year Community Development Plan for the host communities which shall be shared with DESOPADEC.
Meanwhile, Chief Askia Ogieh, sought for synergy between Heritage and DESOPADEC, adding that the commission as a developmental agency of oil-producing areas of Delta State had undertaken lots of programs, measures to ensure that peace is sustained in the area and smooth operations of oil companies in the state.
He said ” the Commission made it a priority to ensures the security and smooth operations of oil companies. We want a synergy on evaluation and monitoring. The commission also engages in the training of youths to check restiveness as this fosters the stability in the youths and thus positively impacting the economy of the state and the oil companies”.
