Dana Air Officials Accuse Passenger Who Fell Out Of Plane Of Playing With Emergency Door

LAGOS FEBRUARY 10TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A Nigerian airline says it’s a passenger’s fault that he fell out of a plane shortly after it landed.
The unidentified man fell out of the Dana Air plane’s emergency door as it taxied shortly after landing in Abuja.
The airline claims the exit couldn’t have popped open “without a conscious effort by a passenger to open it” — something people on the flight say just isn’t true.
“The flight was noisy with vibrations from the floor panel,” passenger Dapo Sanwo told BBC News. “I noticed the emergency door latch was loose and dangling.”
The flight, which appears to have taken off earlier this week, departed from Lagos — a little more than 300 miles away.
Once the plane touched down in Abuja, Sanwo told the BBC, there was a “poof-life explosion” and then a “surge of breeze and noise.”
“The cabin crew tried to say a passenger pulled the hatch which everyone denied,” he said. “They also tried to get us to stop taking videos or pictures.”
Passengers confirmed the constant rattling on social media.
“Did you hear (the door)rattling the whole flight? Was so unsettling. I just thought it was a screw loose, Didn’t think it would actually just fall off.” tweeted Ola Brown, who also posted a photo of the missing door.
Dana Air maintained there couldn’t have been any shaking, which it said was backed up by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority.
“When an aircraft is airborne, it is fully pressurized and there was no way the seat or door could have been shaking as insinuated,”
More than 150 people were killed in 2012 when a Dana Air flight crashed just outside of Lagos, the BBC noted.
