Ijaw Group Alleges Plot To Manipulate Delta South Senatorial Results
LAGOS FEBRUARY 25TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Ijaw Rebirth National Congress IRNC, has alleged plot to manipulate the National Assembly results for Delta South Senatorial District purportedly to have been won by incumbent Senator James Manager.
Comrade Luke Owei, facilitator of Ijaw Rebirth National Congress IRNC, on Monday said results already collated across the Delta South Senatorial District clearly indicate winning for Senator Manager.
He cautioned the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC not to be involved in the alleged irregularities to change the primal results declared by INEC officials at the Local Government Areas in Delta South.
Owei noted that the National Assembly elections for Delta South Senatorial district was free and fair, which does not warrant results being manipulated.
Accoding to the group, ” the Ijaws in Delta South having majority votes in the district voted massively and hundred percent for Senator Manager, which makes it mandatory that Senator Manager is billed to win the election. Ijaw will accept any result shortchaging Senator Manager, and INEC must allow the will of people as clearly shown by their votes to stand.
” We are already aware of ongoing move to change the already announced results in Delta South Senatorial district to favour a particular party. INEC must not tamper the results because we are confident that Senator Manager of the People’s Democratic Party got majority of votes in the Senatorial district”
