Four Clerics Nabbed With ‘Bunch’ Of Human Parts In Ogun State
LAGOS DECEMBER 21ST (NEWSRANGERS)-The Zone 2 Command of the Nigeria Police Force in Onikan, Lagos has arrested four clerics for allegedly dealing in human parts.
The four suspects including three Muslim clerics (alfas) were arrested with bunch of human flesh.
The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the zone, comprising Lagos and Ogun states police commands, AIG Lawal Shehu, who paraded the suspects, said they were nabbed during stop-and-search by detectives on patrol of some notorious areas in Ogun State.
The AIG said initially the detectives picked a man with fresh human heart and the police were investigating how the suspect came about it.
Shehu said three clerics and one other who were members of a syndicate that specialised in using human parts for rituals were nabbed by the police.
“On December 10, information was received by the command that Alfa Mustapha and his cohorts who specialised in exhuming dead bodies and removing their parts were noticed around Isabo area of Abeokuta.
“Detectives of the Zonal Intervention Squad (ZIS) were detailed to investigate. Four suspects were arrested while exhibits of bunch of human flesh was recovered,” he said.
In another development, Shehu said the command received information that a group of fraudsters, who specialised in luring victims, mostly women, to their hideouts under the pretext of giving them business transaction, had lured Mrs Onyekwere to their hideouts in Ifo area of Ogun State and that upon a tip-off four suspects were arrested.
He said the suspects had swindled the victim of a huge amount of money and threatened to kill her if she revealed the business transaction to anyone including her husband.
Shehu also paraded eight suspected land grabbers who were arrested at Iboko Mopora community via Ibafo in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State.
He said the suspects were disturbing public peace and operatives of the ZIS were deployed to the vicinity where they were picked. Various dangerous weapons, including a gun, live cartridges, nail sticks, machetes and swords were recovered from them.
He said seven suspected cult members who have been terrorising residents of Onigbedu, Itori in Ewekoro LGA of the state were also arrested. He said a locally made gun and cult regalia were recovered from the suspects.
