LAGOS NOVEMBER 4TH (NEWSRANGERS)-It was a Sunday and Fidelia, the immediate elder sister of the late Senator Ifeanyi Ubah dressed up for church with a heart full of gratitude.
Her family had already known devastating heartbreak just two years ago when her brother, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah passed away in 2024.
The wound was still tender, but Fidelia remained the rock, the peacemaker and the anchor holding everyone together.
Days earlier, their electric meter had exploded, setting the change-over room ablaze but God had miraculously spared their lives.
Overjoyed, she told her husband that this Sunday, she would mount the altar to testify of God’s goodness.
Downstairs, her husband, Chudi went out to dust the car, waiting for her to join him. But time slipped away, the clock ticked past 8:00 a.m. and they were running terribly late.
Wondering what was keeping his beloved ‘Darling,’ (as he fondly called her) he hurried upstairs.
He pushed the door open, calling her name but Fidelia lay across the bed, fully dressed and motionless. When he reached out and lifted her hand, it fell limp and cold.
No fever. No pain. No warning. Just like that, barely two years after mourning her beloved brother, heaven called Fidelia home too.
She never mounted the church altar down here to share her testimony. Instead, she took her praises straight through the pearly gates, reunited in eternal glory.
May her soul rest in peace
