Popular APC Praise Singer Rarara Escapes Attack As Youths Reject Pro-Tinubu Song In Abuja

LAGOS OCTOBER 3RD (NEWSRANGERS)-Popular All Progressives Congress (APC) praise singer, Dauda Kahutu Rarara, reportedly escaped an attack by angry youths at Monaliza Park in Abuja after his attempt to perform a song in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu triggered protests at the venue.

According to accounts circulating on social media, Rarara was reportedly on stage on October 1 night, when some youths objected to the political content of the song, with the situation escalating as the protesters allegedly shouted him down and began throwing objects towards the stage.

The development reportedly forced the singer to discontinue his performance and seek protection from security personnel deployed to the venue.

Security operatives were said to have intervened swiftly, using tear gas and warning shots to disperse the crowd before escorting Rarara away from the scene.

The incident reportedly created panic among people at the venue, with some attendees said to have fled as security personnel moved to restore order.

There were no confirmed reports, however, on whether anyone sustained injuries or was arrested in connection with the incident as of press time.

Rarara is widely known for producing political songs in support of the APC and President Tinubu, and has been a prominent voice in the administration’s political mobilisation.

His songs have frequently highlighted the achievements of the Tinubu administration while defending the government against criticisms over the economy, insecurity and other national challenges.

The singer’s political interventions have also generated controversy, particularly among Nigerians who disagree with the government’s handling of the country’s economic difficulties and rising cost of living.

The reported confrontation at Monaliza Park comes amid continuing public concerns over inflation, food prices, transportation costs and other economic pressures confronting households across the country.

The incident also comes as political parties and their supporters intensify grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, with music and entertainment increasingly being used as tools for political communication.

At press time, there was no official statement from the police or other security agencies confirming the use of tear gas or warning shots during the incident.
