LAGOS AUGUST 19TH (NEWSRANGERS)-EGYPT boss Hossam Hassan reportedly collapsed after his two wives got into a dramatic hair-pulling brawl in front of shocked holidaymakers, according to shock reports.
The football gaffer was enjoying a break on the country’s glamorous north coat when paradise turned into pure chaos inside a luxury hotel cafe in Porto Marina.
An argument between his long-term wife Howaida Al-Gharbawi and second wife Dina “Dan Adam” Mustafa took place in a hotel bar, which then escalated into a physical fight in front of shocked onlookers.
Relatives quickly got involved, with security then called.
Both women were left with cuts and bruises.
The stress of the public showdown proved too much for Hassan, who, according to Al Arabiya, fainted as he attempted to stop the confrontation.
But as per Sky News Arabia, his lawyer denied what he described as rumours that he had suffered a health crisis and stated that he was in good health.
In the aftermath, the Egypt manager is said to have divorced his first wife, Howaida.
He officially signed the divorce papers at a legal registrar’s office in Cairo.
Hassan had been with Howaida for decades prior to their sudden split and the pair have three children.
Mohamed Shams, legal representative for second wife Dan Adam, told Sky News Arabia: “We hoped it wouldn’t come to divorce, but things escalated to this level.”
Shams also stated that his client suffered a “premeditated attack” during the Porto Marina holiday.
In contrast to the public spats, Ahmed Hamad, lawyer for the family of first wife Howaida, declined to discuss details of the separation, stating that the family is maintaining media silence for the time being.
Hassan had wed Dan Adam back in 2015 while still married to Howaida, briefly splitting in 2022 before patching things up.
Under Egyptian law, a Muslim man is legally permitted to be married to up to four wives simultaneously.
The state registrar is legally required to notify the existing wife, or wives, of the new marriage via official notice.
And a husband who practices polygamy is legally obliged to treat his wives equally in terms of housing, financial support and living standards.
Hassan has been head coach of Egypt since 2024 and led the nation to the World Cup last 16 this summer.
The head coach later renewed his contract with the national team, keeping him in the position until 2030.
