Sick Dad Allegedly  ‘Strangles Two Daughters To Death’ In 5-Star Hotel Before ‘Attempting Suicide’

LAGOS AUGUST 12TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A 40-year-old man allegedly strangled his two young daughters to death inside a room at a five-star hotel near Kempegowda International Airport in the Indian city of Bengaluru before attempting to take his own life by slitting his throat, police have said.

The man, identified as SG Imran, a manager with a private cab company who lived in Bilalnagar near Nagavara Main Road, checked into a fourth-floor room at the hotel at around 7.30pm on Sunday. He told staff he was expecting a guest from Dubai after midnight and would check out the following morning.

When he failed to leave as planned, housekeeping staff knocked on the door at 12.30pm and again at 4.30pm on Monday without response.

At around 5.30pm the hotel manager used a duplicate key to enter. They found the bodies of five-year-old Sheik Zehara and 10-year-old Sheik Zoya lying near the bed.

Imran was on the floor near a sofa, unconscious, with his throat cut by a knife.

An ambulance was called and all three were taken to a nearby private hospital. Doctors declared the two girls dead on arrival. Imran is still being treated.

A death note recovered from the room is believed by police to have been written by Imran.

In it he reportedly stated he was “fed up with life” because of his wife’s alleged extramarital affair, claimed to have evidence of it, said she had hurt him, and that he was “taking my daughters with me”.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (North-East Division) Mithun Kumar GK said officers received a call from the hotel’s security manager about the suspected deaths of two children and a man fighting for his life.

Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the killings and the suspected suicide attempt.
