LAGOS JUNE 4TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Umar Ibrahim Sfawa, a social media commentator from Katsina and Funtua in Katsina state, northern Nigeria, says he will support Peter Obi presidential ambition even if the country breaks up.
In a post on the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Umar said Biafra is not as harmful as the Fulani bandits.
“I will choose Mr. Peter Obi because, if Allah wills and helps him, even if the country eventually breaks apart, whoever is destined to die will die and whoever is destined to live will live. It is possible that if such a thing happens, the North will become more serious and look for solutions to its own problems.
“When people talk about Peter Obi, they say he is Igbo and that he supports Biafra supporters. But please tell me, isn’t Atiku also Fulani? Why don’t people also say that he supports the Fulani bandits who are killing people in Northern Nigeria and taking over their lands?
“Yes, Biafra may pose a challenge to the country, but in my opinion it is not as harmful as the armed Fulani bandits who are causing insecurity in the North. About 50% of the suffering, hardship, and insecurity in the North today is connected to armed Fulani groups.
“Look around your own state and count the major communities. You will find that many of them are of Fulani origin. Some of them, even as I am speaking now, still speak Fulfulde. Yet you are inside a bowl of food, watching someone else’s bowl and saying that theirs is dirty.
“I am not writing this to tarnish the name of the Fulani people, nor am I writing it to defend Biafra supporters. No. I am writing it so that people will understand that no matter how troubled a family may be, you can still find well-behaved and responsible individuals in it. Likewise, no matter how good a family’s upbringing is, there will always be some people who go astray.
“The same applies to our ethnic groups. It is not right to condemn an entire ethnic group and say that all of them are bad. There are good people in every tribe and ethnic group.
