LAGOS MAY 30TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Mount Zion Light House Full Gospel Church Inc., Akowonjo Diocese, Lagos, will hold its annual June programme this year under the theme “Expect New Things,” drawn from Isaiah 43:18–19.
Host/ Diocese Superintendent, Apostle Dr. Otobong Edem said the month-long event is intended to bring miracles, healing, and testimonies to both members and non-members. The June programme will completely change the lives of our members and non-members of the church. God intends to turn things around as never before. Ways will be opened, people who are ill will be healed. It is about miracles and wonders,” Edem stated.
According to him, the programme is based on a vision he received for the month of June and has been held every year.
He described it as a period when the Church experiences “signs and wonders,” with testimonies expected to spread beyond Lagos.
“Lives are touched, miracles are performed and the people would actually feel the presence of God,” he said.
The Superintendent said last year’s edition produced testimonies that drew attention across Lagos State. He recalled that people with various ailments were brought to the church and received healing, while couples without children returned home with babies.
“All kinds of miracles and wonders took place. All those who came actually saw wonders,” Edem said.
“God opened the heavens and showered his huge blessings. Those without children smiled away and today they are happy in the Lord.”
Edem said he expects this year’s programme to surpass the 2024 edition.
“God promised me that this year, He would come, show Himself mightier than ever,” he said.
“He also said that He would do better than what we saw last year. He said He would do very powerful things for people to see and know that He is God.”
The Superintendent said attendees should expect healing for the sick and solutions to various problems. “Those with sicknesses would be healed. Just come with them. All kinds of problems would be solved by Him. I am not God. But God Almighty would take charge,” he said.
Edem, who assumed leadership of the diocese in April 2024, said the branch has witnessed rapid growth in testimonies during his two-year tenure.
He cited cases including a blind boy who regained sight during a 21-day fast, and a man who stopped vomiting blood after 10 years of illness. “People go out to talk about what God has done for them. It is not by my power but by His Grace,” he said.
The church is also expecting visitors from outside Nigeria for the programme.
“We are expecting people in Lagos, from all parts of the world to come as usual. People from Africa, Europe and America as usual would storm the programme,” Edem said.
As part of his preparation, Edem said he would embark on a 31-day fast during the June programme.
“As we are starting the prayer for this June, I will be on fast for 31 days. I won’t eat up until I am done with the assignment God gave me,” he said.
The Superintendent said the theme “Expect New Things” reflects the church’s expectation for new opportunities, healing, and childbirth among attendees.
“New things must happen in your life. New doors must open for you. Sicknesses must leave,” he said.
“Bareness will go and children would come to your home. God is waiting to visit you with a testimony.”
Edem urged people worldwide to place their trust in God ahead of the programme. “Believe in your creator, God Almighty. When you believe in God, He would do all things for you. With Him, all things are possible. When you come to His presence, free your mind,” he said.
