Mike Tyson Purchases $13m Mega Mansion After Jake Paul Fight Payday

LAGOS JANUARY 18TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Mike Tyson is said to have spent $13million on a mega-mansion in Florida following his loss to Jake Paul.

The 58-year-old returned to the ring in November for one last dance with the YouTube star at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, despite not having fought in a professional capacity for almost two decades. As expected by many fight fans, Paul, 27, picked apart Tyson over the course of eight rounds before clinching a unanimous decision victory.

The blockbuster showdown proved to be a major success for Netflix, who streamed the event globally in a landmark moment for online streaming. And thanks to the allure of the competition, both men were reportedly rewarded generously in terms of finances.

While it is unknown how much each combatant made on the night, reports suggest that Tyson was compensated with a purse of around $20m for his efforts – and he hasn’t refrained from investing his earnings. As per the Palm Beach Post, Tyson has splashed a whopping $13m on a new home for himself and his family.

The Mirror reports that a special warranty deed which was recently filed that shows the former heavyweight champion is now the proud owner of a 2.7 acre lot in the Tierra del Rey Estates, offering access to a private lake. Speaking on the sale, Tyson’s representative Joseph Jonathan Schneider is quoted as saying: “This has been a successful transaction with all the parties demonstrating professionalism and collaboration.

“The Tyson family has been a valued client and friend for many years, and it’s been a pleasure working with them.” It comes after realtor Matthew Maschler explained in November that Tyson was tempted to buy a property in the ‘Land of the Kings’ when his daughter began playing tennis.

He claimed: “Basically, the appeal to him is his daughter plays tennis, and she plays in Delray, so he wants to be able to fly in, go see his daughter’s tennis match, go back to his plane and fly to wherever he came from.” Tyson looks to be retired from the sport of boxing for good following his showdown with Paul, explaining after the bout that he almost died in the lead-up to the fight.

Taking to X, he wrote: “This is one of those situations when you lost but still won. I’m grateful for last night. No regrets to get in ring one last time. I almost died in June. Had eight blood transfusions. Lost half my blood and 25lbs in hospital and had to fight to get healthy to fight so I won.

“To have my children see me stand toe to toe and finish eight rounds with a talented fighter half my age in front of a packed Dallas Cowboy stadium is an experience that no man has the right to ask for. Thank you.”
