Galatasaray Gets Major Sponsor In Osimhen Transfer Bid
LAGOS NOVEMBER 19TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Galatasaray efforts to sign Victor Osimhen permanently from Napoli are gaining momentum after securing a sponsor willing to cover 70% of the transfer fee.
According to Turkish outlet Milliyet, the Turkish champions, aiming to reduce the fee from €75m to €70m due to prior payments, have met with two major companies in Turkey, with one agreeing to pay the majority of the fee if Galatasaray covers the remaining 30%.
Napoli reportedly requested €25m upfront with the balance in two installments, prompting Galatasaray to seek additional resources. Galatasaray accelerated their pursuit after Fenerbahçe expressed interest in the Nigerian striker through manager Jose Mourinho. Although initially reassured by Osimhen’s comments, “I am very happy here,” Galatasaray remains keen to persuade Napoli to agree to the transfer.
Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe has explored their options, enlisting agent Mirsad Türkcan to assess funding sources for the transfer fee. While Fenerbahçe has not yet approached Osimhen directly, they hope their positive relationship with Napoli, established during the Eljif Elmas transfer, could give them an edge.
Osimhen, whose transfer fee is reportedly around €75m and annual earnings stand at €12m, would command €36m over a three-year contract. Galatasaray President Dursun Özbek is leading a three-man team, including Kavukcu and Buruk, to negotiate with Osimhen’s agent, George Gardi, in Italy.
Since joining Galatasaray in September, Osimhen has been a standout, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in nine matches across all competitions.
