EKEDC Issues Deadline For Phase Out Of UNISTAR Meters

LAGOS OCTOBER 12TH (NEWSRANGERS)-The Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKEDC) has announced that UNISTAR meters will be phased out by November 14, 2024, urging customers to apply for new meters to avoid being switched to postpaid billing.

In a notice posted on Friday, October 11, 2024, the company emphasized that UNISTAR meters are no longer compatible with the new STS 2.0 metering system, which is being rolled out across its network.

EKEDC stated: “UNISTAR meters are not compatible with the new STS 2.0 system. Kindly apply for a new meter to avoid being moved to postpaid billing.”

The company also reminded customers of the impending deadline: “Did you know that UNISTAR meters will be phased out by November 14, 2024? To apply for a prepaid meter, visit www.ekedp.com/metering.”

EKEDC encourages customers to act promptly to prevent any disruption in their billing system and to enjoy the continued benefits of prepaid metering.
