Peter Obi Mourns Death Of Wigwe, Wife, Son In California Helicopter Crash
LAGOS FEBRUARY 11TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Labour Party Presidential candidate of Nigeria 2023 Presidential election Mr Peter Obi has mourn the death of CEO of Access Bank Herbert , his wife and son in California helicopter cash describing it as tragic news.
Peter in his X handle formerly twitter, “I’m deeply saddened by the tragic news of the passing of my dear friend, Mr. Herbert Wigwe, CEO of Access Holdings, along with his wife and son, and another close friend, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, former group chairman of NGX Group.”
Recalled that the CEO of one of Nigeria ‘s largest banks was killed Friday along with his wife and son when a helicopter they were riding in crashed near Interstate 15 in Southern California’s Mojave Desert.
Herbert Wigwe, chief executive of Access Bank, was among the six people on board when the aircraft went down shortly after 10 p.m. All six people were killed, including two pilots and Bamofin Abimbola Ogunbanjo, former chair of NGX Group, the Nigerian stock exchange.
The deaths of Wigwe, his family and Ogunbanjo were confirmed Saturday by Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a former Nigerian finance minister who is now the director-general of the World Trade Organization.
