‘Why Democracy In Africa Is Not Different From Coup D’etat’

LAGOS JULY 30TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Jibrin Samuel Okutepa, SAN, one of the renowned legal practitioners currently representing the labour party presidential aspirant, Peter Gregory Obi at the ongoing presidential election petition court in Abuja, has reacted to the recent coup d’etat that happened in Niger Republic

It is no longer news that some millitary men in the country forcefully took over power from president Muhammed Bazoum

The takeover has been commanding lots of comments from people around the world

One of the latest prominent Nigerians to state his view concerning the coup is Jibrin Samuel Okutepa. The lawyer in his post, stated that the kind of democracy that is being practiced in Africa is no different from a coup d’etat

He said that what Africans practice as democracy can be likened to democratic political miasma and democratic coup d’etat

Stating his reason, he said it is because the will of the people is not always respected
