Two Govs Threw Their Lists Away After Tinubu Shuns Wike Request – Omatseye Alleges

OMATSEYE 2

LAGOS  MAY 4TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Sam Omatseye, a renowned Nigerian columnist, has revealed that two governors were also making lists of what they will ask the President-elect, Bola Tinubu, to do but they threw the lists away after Tinubu told Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State that he owed him nothing. While speaking during an interview with TVC, Omatseye made it clear that Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State revealed this to him shortly after Tinubu rejected Wike’s request.

Recall that Wike requested that the Federal Government when Tinubu takes over, should refund the money expended on the construction of federal roads by the state government. However, Tinubu rejected this request and said that he owed him nothing. Tinubu commended his efforts but made it clear that the roads are being used by him and the people of the state.

While speaking on this, Omatseye said that two governors were also planning to make their requests but they abandoned their plans after hearing Tinubu’s response to Wike. He further stated that the incoming government shouldn’t be stampeded, adding that they are not yet in power.

“Governor Umahi told us about the drama that was going on while Wike was doing it. He said that the Governor of Jigawa State, Mohammed Badaru, and another governor were penciling down what they will ask Asiwaju to pay them so when Asiwaju said he doesn’t owe anything, they all threw their lists away.”
