LAGOS DECEMBER 5TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Senator Ayo Arise, who represented Ekiti North Senatorial District in the National Assembly from 2007 to 2011 has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen along Okene-Abuja Highway.
Sources told our correspondent in Ado-Ekiti on Monday that the kidnappers are demanding the payment of N80 million to free him.
Arise, who was elected into the National Assembly on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, defected to the All Progressives Congress in 2015 after he lost out in the power play that followed the emergence of Ayodele Fayose as the governorship candidate of the PDP in 2014 in the state.
Fayose eventually won the election.
