LAGOS JULY 25TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A four-storey building has collapsed at 3 Massey Street on Lagos Island, Lagos, Southwest Nigeria.
The latest collapse happened just four days after two people- a mother and daughter- died in another collapse at Meiran Lagos.
The building is said to be owned by Kafo Family which was reportedly managed by Isola Costa. It collapsed around 3.00pm on Tuesday.
No fewer than thirteen victims have so far been rescued alive in the recovery operation which was ongoing at the time of filing this report. However, one dead body has so far been recovered from the rubbles with with many people still trapped in the debris.
Emergency officials comprising of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), state Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) Response Unit, Lagos State Ambulance Service (LASAMBUS), Lagos State Fire Service and Civil Defence among others are involved in the rescue operations.
A source told our correspondent that the structure was initially three-storey building before another one storey was added to make four Storeys building.
