Tyson Fury Sends Draft Contract To Anthony Joshua For Wembley Fight

JOSHUA AND FURY

LAGOS MAY 27TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Tyson Fury claims to have sent fellow British heavyweight Anthony Joshua “a draft contract” for a fight at Wembley Stadium in September.

The fierce rivals appeared on course to meet each other in an £80-million mega-fight at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium last year, but both sides declared negotiations were over in October after a month of talks.

Joshua has been linked with a fight against Deontay Wilder in Saudi Arabia, while WBC champion Fury’s proposed undisputed heavyweight title fight with Oleksandr Usyk fell through in March.

Fury, 34, has not fought since retaining his title with a 10th-round stoppage of fellow Briton Derek Chisora in December. He said a clash with Joshua “is a fight that everyone wants to see, including myself”.

Writing on Twitter, Fury said: “A few days ago I sent a draft contract to @anthonyjoshua for a fight in September @wembleystadium it’s a fight that everyone wants to see, including myself.

“Come on AJ lets give the world what they want to see. This time I’m not gonna make a million vids & keep putting pressure on. the ball is now on your side.. @frank-warren-official @eddiehearn @btsportboxing @daznboxing @toprank @espn @skysports”.

Fury has 33 wins and a draw from 34 bouts, while Joshua, 33, has 25 wins and three losses in his 28 professional fights.

Joshua, who beat American Jermaine Franklin on points in London in April, has twice lost to the 36-year-old Usyk, the IBF, IBO, WBO and WBA champion.

After last year’s fight between Fury and Joshua collapsed, Fury said: “It’s officially over for Joshua. He is now out in the cold with the wolfpack.

“Forget about it. Always knew you didn’t have the minerals to fight the ‘Gypsy King’.”
