Top Five Flash Points Where LGA/LCDA Touts Extort Money From Motorists In Lagos

LAGOS JUNE 19TH (NEWSRNAGERS)-Civil Liberties Organisation, CLO, has identified top five flashpoints where touts, who disguise as local government and local council development workers do intimidate, coarse and extort money, daily from motorists in Lagos state.
Comrade Enitan Joseph chairman and Comrade Abdulhakeem Adesina, secretary, respectively of organisation said that recently, CLO sent some of its unit coordinators to various local government areas and development councils in the state.
According to the duo, surveillance conducted by the team of the organisation showed that Ojodu, Surulere, Ajeromi Ifelodun, Pen cinema and Iyana Ipaja,came top on the list of touting by so-called revenue collectors from these flashpoints.
According to the CLO leaders, daily motorists are allegedly harassed, intimidated and coarse to collect from N20,000 to N50,000 from motorists through negotiations from either cooked up, minor or major levies as offences. These money, are not remitted to the official bank accounts of the various LGAs/LCDAs, but may have been diverted to private pockets, CLO further alleged.
