Three Men Arrested While On Their Way To Supply 740 Bullets To Bandits

LAGOS AUGUST 31ST (NEWSRANGERS)-Three young men who were on their way to supply 740 bullets to bandits in the forest have been arrested by men of the Katsina State Police Command, the command announced in a statement issued today, Friday, August 20, 2024.

The state police command disclosed the development on its X handle , saying the three young men, whose names were given as Ahmed Mohammed Kabir, Mannir Musa and Aliyu Iliya, were arrested by the operatives at Dutsinma town while attempting to deliver 740 rounds of live 7.62mm ammunition to bandits in Yauni forest in Ummadau Village.

The command wrote: “Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspects received the ammunition from Nasarawa State to deliver to one Harisu, a suspected notorious armed bandits kingpin, currently at large. The trio has confessed to their involvement inn the act.

The command said the three young men have given more useful information to the police operatives and are expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation.

Also, a manhunt had been launched for the arrest of the fleeing bandits kingpin and others who are part of the syndicate of suppliers of ammunition to bandits.

Katsina State has been grappling with the activities of bandits and terrorists who unleash mayhem in many parts of the state, attacking and killing residents while also abducting some for ransom payment.
