Three Dead As Horror Plane Crashes In Swiss Mountains
LAGOS MAY 21ST (NEWSRANGERS)-Three people have reportedly been killed in a horror plane crash.
The shocking incident occurred in the Swiss mountains around Neuchatel earlier yesterday (May 20).
It happened at around 10.20am local time and police were said to have been struggling to access the area.
Rescue services and police eventually made it to the scene, and the area had been closed to the public.
An investigation had been launched, with no cause for the crash made public yet, although it was confirmed that it had taken off from the nearby Chaux-de-Fonds airport for a sightseeing flight.
A spokesman for local police told Keystone-ATS news: “The pilot and the two passengers died on site.”
According to local news outlets, the crash occurred on the Les Points-de-Marlet mountain region, but this has not been confirmed by officials yet, nor has the original destination of the aircraft.
The plane has been described locally as a “tourist plane”, but no word on capacity has been given, although according to Aviation Safety the plane was a “light plane” and was privately owned.
According to local weather reports, there has been rain in the area all day, which is set to continue overnight, but no weather warnings have been placed on the area before or after the crash took place.

The area where the crash is suspected of taking place is around 1,000 metres above sea level in the Jura mountain range.
The last-known crash in the area happened in 2011, when a pilot and passenger were both killed nearby.
The plane lost contact with air traffic control around 30 minutes after taking off, but the cause of the accident remains unknown to this day.
One of the victims was a 29-year-old British man, while the other was a 40-year-old local resident.
The plane came down in a more wooded area, rather than a mountainous one.
