LAGOS FEBRUARY 8TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Nigerian goal-machine Victor Osimhen could be on his way back to the Italian Serie A, according to latest reports.
Juventus have reportedly stepped up plans to sign Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen in the summer transfer window.
Osimhen, who is currently the star player for Turkish giants Galatasaray, has been a leading target for several European clubs over the past two seasons.
Victor Osimhen to Juventus?
Juventus’s interest has reportedly been rekindled ahead of their Champions League play-off match against Galatasaray in February, providing the club with a firsthand opportunity to scout the forward.
The 27-year-old’s future is a major talking point in the transfer market. Since his move from Napoli, Osimhen has maintained his reputation as a prolific goalscorer, further boosting his appeal.
According to reports, Juventus are seriously evaluating a potential bid for the Super Eagles star, and are willing to make him the cornerstone of their project as they look to return to the top of European football.
However, any potential move to Turin is said to depend on two key factors: Osimhen’s willingness to accept a salary lower than his reported €16 million annual wage and a decision on the future of manager Luciano Spalletti, whose role is central to the club’s long-term strategy.
Champions League Clash Puts Osimhen in the Spotlight
Osimhen has been a vital player for the Turkish champions this season, scoring eight goals in 14 league appearances. His contract with Galatasaray runs until June 2029, but his consistent form has kept him on the radar of Europe’s elite clubs looking to bolster their attacking options.
Juventus are not alone in their admiration for the Nigerian international. Premier League clubs, notably Chelsea and Manchester United, are also closely tracking the situation.
Chelsea’s interest has reportedly grown stronger following their recent Carabao Cup exit to Arsenal.
The Blues are actively searching for a top-tier striker to elevate their attack, and Osimhen has long been a target at Stamford Bridge. The Blues had previously attempted to sign him before he left Napoli for Galatasaray last summer.
