Scores Of Passengers Feared Dead As Collapsed Billboard  Crushes Tricycles In Abia

LAGOS JUNE 2ND (NEWSRANGERS)-A large advertising billboard collapsed on several tricycles carrying passengers at Salad Market junction near the GIA Event Centre in Aba, Abia State, on Wednesday afternoon.

The collapse happened during heavy rain and strong winds, trapping and injuring numerous people.

Eyewitnesses reported that the billboard suddenly gave way, crushing the tricycles beneath it.

Emergency responders and local engineers arrived promptly to assist in rescuing those trapped under the debris.

The exact number of casualties is not yet confirmed. Several injured passengers were rushed to nearby hospitals for treatment, while some victims were feared dead, with bodies reportedly taken to the morgue.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the collapse as residents cope with the aftermath of the incident.
