Scores Feared Dead As Gas Explosion Engulf GTB In Abeokuta
LAGOS JANUARY 19TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Scores of people are believed to be dead after a gas explosion reportedly engulfed a Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) branch in Kuto, Abeokuta, the Ogun state capital on Tuesday.
Eyewitness reports claim that the gas explosion was triggered by a petrol laden tanker that fell opposite the bank, spilling its content to the road.
Minutes after, the tanker accident caused a huge explosion, trapping commuters, bank staff and customers.
Chronicle NG reports that operatives of the Federal Fire Service are at the scene of the explosion trying to quell the raging fire at the time of this report.
