Real Madrid Takes Home Multiple Honors At Globe Soccer Awards In Dubai
LAGOS DECEMBER 28TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Real Madrid took home multiple trophies from the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai, after Vinicius Jr., Jude Bellingham, coach Carlo Ancelotti and other members of the club earned honors at Friday night’s ceremony in the United Arab Emirates.
Vinicius had the most to celebrate after being named Best Men’s Player and Best Forward, beating out Bellingham and Portuguese legend Cristiano Ronaldo of Al Nassr to claim the overall top individual prize. The Brazilian striker’s 25 goals and 12 assists in 40 games helped “Los Blancos” win the Spanish La Liga, Supercopa de Espana, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup during the 2023-24 season.
“Firstly, I want to thank all of my teammates, my family, and Flamengo, who put me on the world stage,” said Vinicius. “I always thank them and my teammates, which is the most important thing of all, because without them, I would not be here. Also my fans, who follow me closely and cheer me on. Globe Soccer is the award I’ve been working hard for, and being recognized is very important. Good night, everybody, and may 2025 be an incredible year for all of us.”
Bellingham secured the Best Midfielder honor and Diego Maradona Award, after tallying 23 goals and distributing 13 assists for Real Madrid in the 2023-24 campaign. Ancelotti was selected as Best Coach.
Ronaldo, who will turn 40 years old in early February 2025, won the Best Middle East Based Player Award. He contributed 44 goals and 13 assists in 45 games for Al Nassar last season, along with seven goals in 12 appearances for the Portuguese national team in 2024. The veteran also received a custom-made trophy recognizing his status as football’s all-time leading scorer, with a combined 916 goals for club and country.
“In one month, I’m going to do it, 40-years-old, but I’m not finished yet,” Ronaldo said. “I will continue, because I want to win titles. I want to be champion, I want to score more goals, I want to try to win for the national team anything else, and guys, thank you so much. The fans, they always support me, and keep going, because I will continue. Thank you, a lot, for your support. Good night.”
Barcelona’s 17-year-old striker Lamine Yamal was named Best Emerging Player for his excellent performance in 2024, with those efforts including helping Spain win the UEFA European Championship.
