LAGOS OCTOBER 9TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Vinicius Jr’s house in Madrid reportedly caught fire on Thursday morning – just hours after his love life scandal set social media ablaze.
An electrical fault cause the the fire to break out in the false ceiling of his basement sauna and smoke filled two floors of his property, according to Spanish outlet Marca.
The Real Madrid player was unscathed because he was on the other side of the world training with Brazil Seoul, South Korea.
And in a stroke of good news, there were no reported injuries or poisonings from the incident.
The fire service was called at around 11am (Spanish time) to his address in La Moraleja, Alcobenda, and two crews arrived to snuff out the flames.
But it is another distraction for the 23-year-old in what has become a scandal-ridden season. On Wednesday evening, he issued a public apology to his girlfriend after admitting to ‘careless’ behaviour – although he insisted they were not an ‘official couple’.

The 2024 Ballon d’Or runner-up said he wanted to start again with Brazilian presenter and influencer Virginia Fonseca with ‘no lies’ and ‘lots of love, affection and respect.’ He had been caught red-handed messaging another model.
‘We all go through moments that make us reflect and grow,’ he wrote on Instagram.
‘Recently, I experienced a situation that made me reflect and recognise attitudes that did not represent who I want to be or the type of relationships I want to build.
‘Virginia is an incredible woman, an admirable mother, and someone for whom I feel enormous affection and respect.
‘Since we met, she has come to Madrid three times to see me, leaving behind her routine, her commitments, and her life just to be with me. I met an admirable mother and an incredible partner.
‘Although we were not yet officially a couple, there was a sincere connection.
‘I am not ashamed to admit that I was careless, that I did not respond in the best possible way and that I disappointed her.
‘That is why I want to apologise publicly, with an open heart, because I understood that a true relationship only exists when there is respect, trust and transparency.
‘The idea now is to start all over again. No lies, no fights, no masks. With lots of love, affection and respect.’
Mother-of-three Virginia posted selfies of her with a Vini Jr Real Madrid shirt on at the LaLiga giants’ weekend game against Villarreal.
She wrote: ‘Hala Madrid’ in a caption alongside the snaps she showed off to her 53 million Instagram followers.
Day Magalhaes has meanwhile been answering questions from fans on her social media.
She told one who asked her if Vinicius had blocked her after she outed herself as the other woman in his life: ‘No.’
When another asked her if she was with the footballer when he was starting a relationship with Virginia, she replied: ‘Yes.’
Vinicius Jr has been linked to a string of women this year. One Brazilian news outlet recently said the list was now at eight, and claimed they included Spanish model Victoria Ruiz, Venezuelan model Isabella Ladera and even 2023 Miss New York USA Rachelle Di Stasio after she attended a Real Madrid match.
Despite off-pitch troubles and an uncertain future, Vinicius Jr is enjoying a fine run of form, with five goals and four assists in 10 games this season.
He is behind Kylian Mbappe in terms of priority but appears to have accepted that and has formed a formidable partnership with the Frenchman.
However, his contract expires in 2027 and talks over his future have stalled.
He has been given a torrid time by fans in Spain, facing racial abuse and insults around LaLiga grounds purely because of the colour of his skin.
It is no wonder, then, that the 25-year-old has not appeared overly enamoured with life in the Spanish capital, and he could end up moving away.
