LAGOS JULY 30TH (NEWSRNAGERS)-Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, has denied that the Presidency offered ministerial slots to former National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Ralph Nwosu.
Bwala said that no government officials can promise or grant ministerial slots except President Tinubu.
He made this known in a post on his X handle on Wednesday.
The statement comes after Nwosu alleged that ‘some people’ offered him three ministerial appointments to abandon the idea of transforming the ADC into a coalition opposition party.
He made the allegation during the National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting of the ADC on Tuesday, where the party officially handed over its leadership to former Senate President David Mark.
Responding to the allegation, Bwala said that people in the ADC were painfully graduating to the ‘association of jesters’.
He said: “From his words as reported you know that he lied that senior government officials of @officialABAT administration promised him 3 ministerial slots to not surrender his party to the coalition for a wild goose chase.
“No government official(s) of whatever rank in our government can promise or grant ministerial slots but Mr President.
“If a promise of ministerial slots would be made to Mr Nwosu, it would be made by the president and to him directly.
“The same courage he mustered saying he was promised slots by the officials could have been used in mentioning their names and positions in this government.
“They are painfully graduating to association of jesters or Association of Disorganised Characters.”
