Nigerian Maritime Media Practitioners Mourn Passage Of Ray Ugochukwu
LAGOS JUNE 3RD (NEWSRANGERS)-Journalists under the aegis of Congress of Nigerian Maritime Media Practitioners (CONMMEP) mourn the death of the President of Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN) Mr. Ray Ugochukwu.
Ray Ugochukwu died on Thursday after a brief illness.
CONMEP in a statement signed by its President, Alhaji. Tunde Umar-Daniah said, “We mourn the loss of his courageous attributes and mentorship, knowing that words alone cannot adequately express the depth of our grief.
“Having made significant contributions to various media houses, Comrade Ray Ugochukwu’s accomplishments were truly monumental. He served as the former President of the Maritime Reporters’ Association of Nigeria (MARAN) and President of the Maritime Journalists Association of Nigeria (MAJAN). Additionally, he held the position of Chairman of the Daily Times Chapel of NUJ. These milestones solidified his status as a respected figure within the industry.
“The legacies left behind by Comrade Ray Ugochukwu are there for all to see. His passion for his craft and dedication to the maritime sector will continue to shape the field for generations to come. The impact of his work on the advancement of maritime reporting is immeasurable, leaving an enduring mark on both the profession and the lives he touched.
“As we bid farewell to Ray Ugochukwu we pray for his soul to find eternal rest. May God almighty grant his family, MAJAN, Maritime Media and the Lagos NUJ the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.”
