Mother Struck To Death While Separating Sons’ Fight In Kano

LAGOS APRIL 8TH (NEWSRANGERS)-A domestic dispute between two brothers in Mekiya, Gabasawa Local Government Area of Kano State, turned tragic on Friday night when their mother was accidentally killed while trying to intervene.
Intelligence sources told Zagazola Makama that the incident occurred at about 11:00 p.m. on April 4, 2025.
The fight broke out between Yusuf Alasan, 25, and his elder brother Suleiman Alasan, 30, both residents of Mekiya. While attempting to separate them, their mother, Hauwa Alasan, 40, was struck on the head with a cooking pot by Yusuf.
She sustained a severe head injury and was rushed to Gabasawa Hospital, where she was confirmed dead.
The body was released to her family for burial in accordance with Islamic rites. Police have since arrested the suspect, and an investigation is ongoing.
