Fatigue: Two Policemen Slump During Inauguration Parade
LAGOS MAY 29TH (NEWSRANGERS)-Two male police officers on Monday slumped during the inauguration ceremony of the new governor of Taraba State, Agbu Kefas.
The policemen who slumped during a parade were immediately moved out of the stadium for emergency medical checks.
At the time of filing this report, the officers being treated in a makeshift clinic located on the premises of the stadium were recuperating.
Some of the red cross officials who helped in conveying the policemen to the makeshift clinic for treatment said the policemen slumped as a result of stress, exhaustion and tiredness.
At the makeshift clinic, some of the medical personnel who spoke with our correspondent said the affected police are all responding to treatment and will soon be on their feet.
The source, however, said they will be conveyed to the police clinic situated in Jalingo the state capital for proper medical attention.
The policemen still fully dressed in their ceremonial regalia were said to have been at the venue of the inauguration as early as 7am.
A top government official who spoke with our reporter on the condition of anonymity said “The problem is that the majority of the policemen and other paramilitary on the parade ground did not eat before coming.”
In his maiden address to the people of the state, the governor, Agbu Kefas, called on the people of the state to give him the much-needed support that would assist him in steering the ship of the state.
