“Don’t Worship My Image, I Am Not Jesus Christ Neither Am I A Christian” – Jesus Film Actor Advises
LAGOS APRIL 20TH (NEWSRANGERS)-These were the words of the man who was given the role of Jesus in the movie.
“I am Brian Deacon, I am an English actor and I have acted in several films and played Jesus in the 1979 film where I was cast by producer John Heyman to play the role of JESUS.
I have been married twice, first to Rula Lenska, with whom I had a daughter, Lara Deacon, and then married Natalie Bloch, to whom I have been married since 1998.Do You Have A Marriage One day my producer asked me if I wanted to play the role of Jesus, I said yes why not? but he did not believe that I could play this role. And I remember that when we finished shooting the film a man said to me this: It will be very difficult for you to convince people by seeing you play other roles, because you have now just played Jesus … people aren’t going to tell the difference and they’re going to find it hard to see you play a bad guy or a naughty role.
I suddenly realized that I am in a sphere of influence that meant I had to be careful about other choices and roles I had to make. However the thing goes further because since the time when the film was published until today, it is not uncommon to see people hanging my image in their house, car, store, church, some even put my photo in their private family altars. I ask you where you started throwing away my photos, it is idolatry to pray with my photo and it is a sin before God. Attach yourself to God not to my picture, your savior is Jesus Christ of Nazareth, my no is Brain Deacon I just played the role of Jesus in this film and I strive to please God myself.
Even the new generation, some people will say it’s okay if they use my picture to remind you of Jesus, but no you don’t need my picture to remind you of Jesus Christ the savior. So for you who prostrate yourself before my image or before any image believing that it is the Lord Jesus Christ that you are praying to, please stop because it is not God you are worshiping but it is is my person or the image of another person and it is a sin.
Here is a passage from the bible that can help you understand what I keep saying. Here it is God himself who speaks.
Exodus 20-3-5 “You shall have no other gods before me.
You shall not make for yourself a graven image, nor any likeness whatsoever of the things which are in the heavens above, which are in the earth below, and which are in the waters below the earth.
You shall not bow down to them, nor serve them; for I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me.”
